Process
At Midcoast Metal, every project starts with a clear purpose and ends with something built to last.
From the first conversation to final install, our process is straightforward, considered, and shaped by experience at every stage. We don’t overcomplicate it, we focus on getting it right.
1.
Consultation
Every job starts with a conversation. We take the time to understand what you need, how it needs to function, and where it’s going to live. Whether it’s a custom staircase, a commercial kitchen fit-out, or a one-off fabrication, we listen closely, ask the right questions, and get a clear picture of your expectations from the beginning because good work starts with understanding.
2.
Scope and quote
Once we understand the job, we map it out properly. Materials, finishes, dimensions, and timelines, everything is considered during our initial quote. Our quotes are clear and honest, with no guesswork. You’ll know exactly what you’re getting and what it takes to build it right.
3
Design and planning
This is where ideas become defined. We translate your requirements into detailed plans, refining measurements, materials, and construction methods. Every detail is thought through, not just how it looks, but how it works, how it’s built, and how it will last. Precision on paper leads to precision in steel.
4.
Review and approval
Before production starts, we walk through the design together. We make sure every measurement, finish, and detail is exactly where it needs to be. If something needs adjusting, we refine it. Only when everything is right do we move forward. No shortcuts. No assumptions.
5.
Agreement
Once the scope is locked in, we formalise the job. Clear terms, timelines, and expectations, so everyone’s on the same page from day one. It’s a straightforward process, built on transparency and mutual respect.
6.
Fabrication and communication
This is where the real work happens. Cutting, welding, folding, and finishing, every stage handled with care and precision in the workshop. We don’t rush jobs, and we don’t cut corners. You’ll be kept in the loop as your project takes shape, so you always know where things stand. Craftsmanship isn’t just about skill, it’s about communication.
7.
Installation and completion
Once fabrication is complete, if installation is required we install with the same attention to detail we build with. Everything is checked, aligned, and finished to the high standards that we adhere to. We make sure it fits perfectly, functions flawlessly, and looks exactly as it should.
